Walking tour in Tallinn (1. boat only), hosted by Jari Heikka, starts from the hotel at 16:30.

Another option is to visit KGB museum (pre-book). There are two groups available to make the visit, starting at 6 pm and 7 pm. Both groups are limited to 20 persons. Book you visit the latest by 20.9. to the KGB museum and pay 22 € using the link in the registration pages.

Of course just walking around in the old town of Tallinn and enjoying freetime is also a great option.

During your visit to Tallinn, you will also have a unique chance to join to the charter of a new OTE Tallinn 69 (41 Club). Charter will take place in hotel Europa on Wednesday at 7 pm. Follow the signs .

HYM ”Love Boat” Get Together at the Grand Marina hotel

• Thursday 1st Oct., check-in to the Grand Marina hotel, if you stay there

• Registration for the HYM is at the Grand Marina hotel lobby starting at 3 p.m.

• Get Together party starts at 7 pm across the street from the Grand Marina, at the Congress Center, Opening ceremony 8pm.

• Program includes: long speeches (just kidding), cocktail snacks, music and dancing, ending at around 11 pm

• Friday 2nd Oct. You can join Helsinki City guided tour with bus (if you have not been on tour on Thursday and and you have registered for the GetTogether event). You need to book to the tour in advance in the registration pages before 20.9. Tour bus leaves from in front of the hotel at 9.30 and after the tour the bus takes you to the Viking Line Terminal at 11.00. Take your luggage with you to the bus.

Stockholm

• The ship will arrive to Stockholm at 10:10 a.m. Swedish time. You must be on board the ship for your return by 4:00 p.m. at the latest. Lunch buffet on the boat ends at 3 p.m.

• For guests who do not attend meetings on board, it is possible to explore the sights of Stockholm for a few hours.

• We recommend either the Swedish Royal Palace or the ABBA Museum

• You can walk to the Royal Palace or take a taxi (Uber / Bolt). The walking distance is about 1.6 km, or about 30 minutes. On the map Stockholm's Old Town / Kungliga slottet

• The Abba Museum is marked with a red marker on the map. To get there we recommend taking a taxi (Uber / Bolt) to save time. Instructions for public transport on the Viking Line website. Abba museum tour is recommended to book in advance (11.30 onwards earliest). https://abbathemuseum.com/en/

Hello, Stockholm is calling!

We, TC and OT Sweden, are happy to give you some assistance in how to get around in Stockholm on your visit to our beautiful city.  

As many of you have shown interest in visiting the ABBA museum, some Tangents and Old Tablers will pick you up at the Viking Line ferry terminal at 10.30, to assist you in finding your way to the ABBA Museum. The nicest way to go to Djurgården (the island where the ABBA museum is situated) is by a short walk to Slussen (around 20 minutes) and then a short trip by ferry. The boats are leaving every 15 minutes. Your guides will follow you all the way to Djurgården.  

For those who have booked the 11.00 tour at the ABBA museum I would recommend you to take a taxi from the ferry terminal to the museum. 

We have also managed to arrange a guided tour around Gamla stan/The old town. It is my old club mate Ulrika who will guide us. The tour will start at 13.30 o'clock at Riddarholmen, a small island next to Gamla stan. The easiest way to go to Riddarholmen is a 30 minutes walk through Slussen and Gamla stan. I, Åsa, will pick you up at 13.00 outside the Viking Line ferry terminal. It is also possible that you take a taxi from the ferry to Riddarholmen. 

The guided tour takes around one hour. As we do not have that much time in the afternoon, it is important that you are on time outside the ferry, at 13.00 sharp 😉.

The tour is free of charge, but a donation to a suitable charity project of your choice would be appreciated.

A note to everyone, the gates to the ferry close at 15.40, so you need to plan to get back to the ferry by 15.20 at the latest.  The ferry will leave with or without you, so for your own good, please be on time.

HYM ”Love Boat” dresscode and other information

• Friday evening: Love Boat disco–theme party: Something discoish or Love Boatish

• Saturday evening: Gala dinner: Black tie

Ladies: In addition to an ankle length evening gown, also a Black-tie appropriate cocktail dress is fine to wear.

On the boat it is warm inside, of course, but the air conditioning can be strong and feel a bit cool, which is good to take into consideration for the meetings and gala dinner.

The weather in Helsinki, Tallinn and Stockholm at this time of the year can be anything from –5 degrees to +20 degrees, sun, rain or even snow, so it is worth checking the weather forecast before packing for the trip. For example from here: https://en.ilmatieteenlaitos.fi/local-weather

Even though our ship is quite large, it may still rock if it gets very windy. This means that if you are prone to motion sickness, please bring suitable motion sickness medication with you just in case.
